Summary: The IT Systems Administrator role is responsible for maintaining corporate and branch system infrastructure including, but not limited to: databases, servers, network equipment, and software applications. May plan, coordinate, and implement procedures to support and safeguard corporate and branch systems. This will be a full-time, salaried position with work typically performed between the hours of 7:00a.m. and 4:00p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required for system conversions and updates.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
  • Assists in integrating new applications and technologies
  • Trains users in system application and workstation use
  • Develops clear and concise documentation and instruction manuals
  • Applies updates to systems as needed
  • Maintains disaster recovery programs as it pertains to IT
  • Documents and maintains software license and copyright agreements, update revisions and service/maintenance arrangements
  • Diagnose and resolve network related issues
  • Assists in setup of company VOIP phones and voicemail accounts
  • Maintain user accounts and groups
  • Monitor systems daily; resolves alerts and errors
  • Provides troubleshooting and technical assistance as needed
  • Ensures efficient and economical utilization of equipment and resources. Provides for safekeeping of equipment and supplies
  • Keeps current on new developments and techniques in information technology; participates in educational programs as applicable
  • Utilizes imaging system to build and refresh workstations
  • Assists in managing company owned cell phones and services
  • Maintain backup and restores system as required to maintain integrity of system
  • Provides input for annual budget for equipment, software, support costs and educational needs
  • Provide off hours support for high priority and emergency situations
  • Participate in meetings, providing input and suggestions
  • Maintain help desk ticketing system
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or Associates degree with equivalent technical or professional experience related to systems infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems
  • Can work in both a team environment or individually as required
  • Ability to travel to branch sites (within Alaska, Hawaii, and the continental US)
  • Outstanding interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively, and to work effectively under pressure and time deadlines
  • Experience in the wholesale/distribution industry a plus
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills a must
  • Multitasking and prioritizing skills needed to manage projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Diligent and firm with high ethical standards
