Open Position : LMR (Land Mobile Radio) Telecommunications Technician

REVL Communications is looking for a qualified energetic candidate to fulfill a full time LMR (Land Mobile Radio) Telecom Technician position in Anchorage, Alaska. This position requires the servicing of customers within the City of Anchorage, Mat-Su Borough, and surrounding customer base. Work performance typically is on-site, off- site, or at remote locations. Technicians install & maintain a varied array of communication systems, both centralized and distributed/interconnected within a larger system.
CORE SKILLS & DUTIES
Perform physical installations of RF equipment and components (e.g. mobile radio installs, wiring, cabling, repeater/ base stations, antenna systems, equipment racks, & associated peripherals).
Respond to trouble tickets, and scheduled maintenance activities & document equipment/system installation and repair actions with customer and main office through completion.
Program/re-program and modify new and existing fleets of portable and mobile radios for multiple manufactures and platforms proficiently.
Perform trouble shooting activities and repair/replace malfunctioning equipment (in/out of warranty).
Communicate/coordinate with main office for real time sales, follow up and integration of LMR equipment sold to area customer(s) .
Use test equipment / service monitor, and diagnostic software to maintain industry standard level of service.
Documents all equipment/system, installation/ modification/ repair actions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge in RF theory and practical RF experience
Industry knowledge of, and experience programming, trouble shooting, and repair of major LMR manufacture equipment: Motorola, Kenwood, Harris Corp. Tait, EF Johnson Etc..
Experience/Certification of Electronic Service Monitor, O-scope, Anritsu or other electronic service related devices/ equipment in the LMR and Cellular band.
Ability to perform Mobile radio installation/ de-installation on commercial, industrial, and Public Safety vehicles, equipment and apparatus.
PC skills in the programming and testing of various platforms of software for programming, testing and tuning of RF equipment.
Knowledge of RF communications wiring and installation practices.
Clean Driving History
Contract mandated drug screening
Ability to lift 45 lbs
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a 2 year technical training program in Electronics, RF, Communications / or Military training in related field. 2 years of direct field experience of Telecomm. installations, repair and work related duties. OR equivalent combination of industry experience and education that demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed.
LOCATION
Must be self starter, willing to be engaged in satisfying existing customer base, punctual in executing off site work at existing contract customers duty station. Anchorage office
