What you will be doing:

In this position, you will work closely with Investigators and with business and community organizations to ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal Tobacco control laws and to enforce the laws prohibiting the sale and distribution of tobacco products to minors.

In this position, your duties will also include:

• Conduct investigative activities under the supervision of Tobacco Enforcement Investigators.
• Frequent Travel via airplane or vehicle to remote locations throughout the State of Alaska to assist investigators with inspections.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

The working environment you can expect:

The position will be filled in Anchorage or Juneau. Juneau Central Office: Conveniently located in vibrant downtown near the Alaska State Capitol Building, courthouse, Governor's mansion, state and city museums, and within walking distance to various restaurants, coffee shops, and retail stores (350 Main Street, Suite 214, Juneau, AK 99801). Anchorage Regional Office: Located in Midtown Anchorage and within walking distance to Cuddy Family Park, Loussac Library, and Natural Pantry (3601 C Street, Suite 878, Anchorage, AK 99503). You will work in a variety of settings and environments, depending on where investigations/inspections are being conducted. Locations vary from rural communities, such as Tok and Haines, to major cities like Anchorage and Juneau.

• Must be 16, 17, or 18 years of age.
• An individual with critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow instructions and recognize when assistance or guidance is needed.
• The ability to communicate clearly - verbally and in writing - with strong interpersonal skills and experience working with individuals from different backgrounds.
• Ability to work semi-independently with appropriate direction from investigators.
• Applicant is able, with appropriate guidance from investigators, to apply the policies and practices relevant to the investigation.
• Applicant must be able to focus on work that is repetitive in nature and have a strong attention to detail.

• This position requires frequent travel throughout the State of Alaska via small aircraft or automobiles to assist investigators with inspections.
• Must have a valid and current Alaskan ID for Travel.
