Description:

Forklift OperatorForklift Operators support the movement of materials and products, including taking part in warehouse organizing and finished goods inspection, taking product off the production line and putting it away in designated locations in the warehouse, loading and unloading customer trucks.Forklift Operators also fill in for other jobs in plant (e.g., Machine Operator) as business needs dictate. Standard work week 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, no travel required.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform pre-shift forklift inspections onRecord preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics, performing mathematical calculations asSafely operate a propane sit-down forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, which includes, but is not limited to, keeping production line clear and running and keeping product and raw materials properly stored.Visually inspect material for quality defects; Segregate defective product and notifyFill dumpsters from production floor; Housekeeping of plant (inside and out).Work as a team with production and shipping team to follow all facility Standard Works/processes and improve operations.Support the recycling area, when needed, and help to keep itFill in on other areas of the plant (e.g., Machine Operator) asAssists forklift operator II asOther duties asRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Highly motivated with a good, sound workPrior experience operating a propane sit-down forklift or other mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention toAbility to follow CWT's policies, procedures, andGood communication, organization, and time managementBasic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use aAbility to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).Team player able to follow instructions from both management andAbility to learn and operate newEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or GED is PreferredMust be at least 18 years of age orPrior experience in a manufacturing settingWorking Conditions:Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.Hours worked: 8-10 hours/shift, varies on shift schedule and businessFlexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours whenHeavy, stationary machinery on manufacturingRadio, Calculator, Measuring DevicesHand toolsComputer (Shop Floor and ERP)Physical Requirements:OCCASIONALLY - FREQUENTLY - CONTINUOUSLY(0-30%) - (31-60%) - (61-100%)LIFTING OR CARRYING· 1-10 LBS - X· 11-20 LBS - X· 21-40 LBS - X· 41-50 LBS - X· 51 OR MORE LBSPUSHING OR PULLING:· 1-40 LBS - X· 41-50 LBS - X· 51 OR MORE LBSBENDING OR STOOPING - XREACHING ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL - XDRIVING AUTOMATIC EQUIP.
