Job TitleOpen to the general public and any current Municipal employee.Example Of DutiesReceives and documents complaints and requests for service; provides information to the public, the Municipality of Anchorage and other agencies concerning Street Maintenance activities and procedures; dispatches appropriate personnel to service requests; pursues resolution of problems and complaints through research and referral of work requests; performs miscellaneous clerical tasks. Responsible for opening and closing the Street Maintenance Dispatch Center. This position handles heavy volumes of telephone traffic. Diplomacy and proper telephone etiquette are required. Must be able to send prompt and accurate information to Street Maintenance Crews and ROW enforcement officers via radio, paging devices, written messages and telephone. Utilize GIS systems to update real time public maps regarding Street Maintenance operations. Train Street Maintenance personnel on use of tablet devices to enter completed work. Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in office clerical work. OR Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Information Systems or similar discipline and experience in office clerical work. Must possess and/or obtain:Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.Ability to type at a net speed of 35 WPM.Additional Important InformationPreference will be given to Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees.
