Instructor
Under the general direction and supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the instructor is responsible for teaching and supervising various types of classes, including fitness classes, arts and crafts classes and various other recreational lifestyle classes in and around the community center areas and ensuring safety regulations are met. Instructs classes in a safe, enjoyable and positive environment that promotes wellness and engagement in accordance with service area policy and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least eighteen years old; At least one year of experience teaching fitness and various types of classes; must demonstrate ability to create a lesson plan and implement a program/curriculum. Preferred Certifications for Fitness Classes: Nationally recognized fitness certifications including American Council on Exercise Fitness (ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and CPR/First Aid Certification.

The employee must occasionally transport up to 50 pounds and very occasionally more than 100 pounds.
