Position OverviewMedical Laboratory Scientist at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. Full‑time, 1.0 FTE, 8‑hour evening shifts, 40 hours per week.Provides accurate, timely, and cost‑effective laboratory testing of patient samples to aid in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Provides technical expertise to Providence Alaska Medical Center and other institutions. Meets and exceeds functional criteria for Medical Laboratory Technician II.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science or education and training equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science with sufficient clinical laboratory experience on human specimens to meet Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification requirements through a nationally accrediting agency, e.g. American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology.Within 1 year of hire: National Clinical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology.Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Association of Bioanalysts.Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists.Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology.Preferred Qualifications1 year experience.Salary and BenefitsPay Range: $37.84 – $58.75 per hour.
