Role SummaryWe are seeking a Highway/Roads Engineer to serve in a lead technical role under a Project Manager.ResponsibilitiesLead technical development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects.Oversee CAD Designers and EITs.Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects.Participate in site feasibility analysis through final design and construction phases.Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.Perform other duties as required.Preferred QualificationsMinimum of 5 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.Experience with corridor modeling, grading, and drafting plansheets in Autodesk Civil 3D.Experience on Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities projects.Familiarity with reading and modifying project specifications and special provisions.Required QualificationsProfessional engineering license recognized in the location of the position offered.Hands‑on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation, Open Roads Designer, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil 3D.MS Office knowledge.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignments, geometric layout, and CAD base alignment plans.Commitment to being an active participant of HDR's employee‑owned culture.Primary LocationBusiness Class: HighwaysIndustryHighway + RoadScheduleFull‑timeEmployee StatusRegularJob PostingMay 19, 2026EEO StatementWe consider all qualified applicants, regardless of criminal histories, arrest and conviction records.We are an affirmative action and Equal Opportunity Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
