Position OverviewThe UAA Department of Art seeks adjunct faculty to teach credit courses in photography (synchronously in-person) and drawing (asynchronously online). Candidates in other disciplines are welcome as needs vary by semester. Qualified applicants will be placed in a hiring pool and will be called to teach as assignments become available.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver undergraduate courses in photography or drawing, as assigned.Prepare instructional materials and evaluations in line with departmental standards.Participate in teaching effectiveness evaluations during semester assignments.Engage students, staff, faculty, and the public with professionalism and respect.Minimum QualificationsTerminal master's degree (MFA) in the relevant discipline, unless an exception is approved by the Dean of CAS.For upper‑division or graduate courses, hold a terminal degree in the appropriate discipline.Official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position.Legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction; visa sponsorship is not accepted.Available to work within Alaska during any assignment.Position DetailsLocation: University of Alaska Anchorage campus, Anchorage, Alaska.Part‑time, adjunct, represented temporary position.Pooled position; hiring on a semester‑by‑semester basis.Adjunct salary schedule per the UNAD CBA based on education and experience.Application RequirementsCover letter stating relevance of education and experience to the adjunct position and indicating courses or areas of expertise you are qualified to teach.Comprehensive curriculum vitae.Contact information for three professional references.Unofficial transcript.Statement of teaching philosophy.Five digital samples of your work.Legal & Administrative ConsiderationsUnion represented adjunct position; may be canceled based on university needs.
