OverviewThis position is part of a hiring pool for research technicians employed by the College of Arts and Sciences. It is a part‑time, non‑exempt, temporary role. Acceptance into the pool does not represent an offer of employment. The College conducts both applied and fundamental research, collecting, synthesizing, archiving, and distributing data, specimens, and knowledge, including field work.ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of data collection and entry procedures, and of computerized spreadsheets and databases.Ability to manipulate data to produce charts and graphs that display trends.Ability to interpret data results for reporting.Ability to work in remote locations, sometimes in extreme conditions.Ability to coordinate or lead the activities of others.Minimum QualificationsResearch Technician1: High school graduation and 6 months of experience in a field relevant to research, or equivalent combination of training and experience.Research Technician2: One year of relevant college coursework and one year of experience in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.Research Technician3: Two years of relevant college coursework and two years of experience in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.Research Technician4: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four years of experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.Position DetailsThis position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. It is part‑time and non‑exempt.
