Join us!Description: The ACT1 Event Program Planner supports the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies, the newest of six Department of War Regional Centers. In this role, you will work closely with other contract and government logistics and event planners in the Strategic Engagement Division to plan and execute events of various size, length and complexity.Responsibilities:Acting as the overall project or event functional services integrator; conduct programs as assigned.Conducting research and recommend vendors, based on analysis and rationale of at least three sources, to support programs.Developing and ensuring short- and long-term milestones are tracked and achieved and all functional support requirements are integrated and met.Working with internal and external resources to secure needed materials and services to support event planning and execution.Participating in Integrated Planning Teams (IPTs), conduct In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) and after-action reviews (AARs) for events.Developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOP) for domestic and international events.Evaluating current planning procedures, recommend improvements and implement modifications as appropriate.Assisting with travel requirements, acquiring airline tickets, filing pre- and post-travel vouchers, compiling security information and manage correspondence, when necessary.Traveling in support of international programs; perform pre, on-site, and post international event requirements.Providing summary of activities and financial costs to USG through the service contract's management on a weekly basis or as requested.RequirementsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeMinimum of five (5) years' experience planning domestic and international defense events.Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word and ExcelExperience with calendar creation, coordination and maintenance.SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain and hold a SECRET clearance, is required.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in planning and conducting outreach/engagement activities, and experience integrating functional support activities into events.Ability to contribute as a team player; strong interpersonal skills to negotiate various issues.Strong ability to work with minimal supervision.Limited managerial experience (minimum 1 year)BenefitsMedical/Dental/Vision InsuranceACT1 Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Company Paid Life and AD&D InsuranceCompany Paid Short-Term DisabilityVoluntary Long-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Health Savings Account (HSA)401K with employer matchPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysParental LeaveMilitary LeaveEducation, Training & Professional DevelopmentVoluntary Accidental Injury/Critical Illness/Hospital CareVoluntary Pet Insurance, Legal Resources, and Identity Protection are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, status as a protected veteran or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, local, or international law.
