Job Description Job DescriptionAbout Electric Power Systems, Inc.:Electric Power Systems, Inc (EPS) is a unique company offering a wide range of services in the areas related to small and large utilities, industrial customers and Independent Power Producers. We provide power system operation studies and troubleshooting, design of new facilities and upgrading of existing facilities, consultation and studies. EPS designs substations up to 230 kV, power plants from 100 kW to 25 MW, and protection, control and monitoring systems including SEL based relays and PLC based SCADA systems. We extensive experience with PV based systems in remote locations and have integrated both PV and Wind power generation into remote diesel power plants.Through our sister company, EPS also offers unique design/build services for a wide variety of projects from power plants to substations, transmission and distribution systems.We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Power System Electrical Engineer to join our Alaska team.Responsibilities:Collaborate with subject matter experts within the company in substation design, power system studies, protection & coordination, diesel power plant designServe as a technical lead project manager within a company of over 40 professional engineersPerform or direct other engineers in analyzing low voltage, medium voltage power systems, designing substations and power plants in unique environments, and project managementDevelop controls and design for the integration of power generation of various technologies into the same plantPrepare technical reports using Microsoft wordDevelop project proposals, scopes, and schedulesManage projects independently, including coordinating data requests and submissions, tracking progress, and addressing client commentsProvide technical oversight and direction to other engineers as neededRequirements:Proven team leader with strong communication and problem-solving skillsExperienced in project scoping, estimating, and detailed electrical designExperiences in management of and technical lead for, entry level engineersStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsExperience in AutoCAD, SEL, Woodward, Comap, Basler, GE, ETAP, EasyPower, SKM and PowerWorldKnowledge of VFD controls and applicationsField experience is preferred, but not requiredMicrogrid, power plant or utility experience a plus, but not requiredExperience in off-grid applications and integration of wind, solar, hydro generation preferredAbility to perform site visits and conduct project scoping with clientsAbility to work independently and on multidiscipline engineering teamsPE Registration required, or ability to obtain an Alaska PE within 6 monthsBenefits:Electric Power Systems offers a great benefit package including Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, 401(k) Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, and more.Electric Power Systems, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action employer that values diversity at all levels.
