The salary is dependent upon the location of hire: Anchorage / Kenai = $54.12 per hour Fairbanks = $55.74 per hour Juneau = $56.83 per hour Bethel = $81.18 per hour
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: This full-time "Non-Permanent" position will be an Alaska State Trooper working within the District Attorney's office and receives day-to-day supervision by the regional DA in the assigned area. Handle investigative actions identified by the DA or designee, acts as a liaison with criminal justice partners including federal, state, and local police, and collaborates on additional necessary steps in criminal investigations. Conduct follow-up investigations and interviews with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and politically sensitive or controversial cases. Apply for and service search warrants and subpoenas, testify before the court and during evidentiary, grand jury trial and sentencing hearings.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently employed in the Department of Public Safety as a State Trooper Recruit; and not less than six months experience as a State Trooper Recruit; and satisfactory completion of Department of Public Safety Field Training; and determined by the Executive Director of the Alaska Police Standards Council to be eligible to possess a police officer "Basic Certification" issued by the Council. OR Possession of, or eligible for reinstatement of, an active police officer certificate issued by the Alaska Police Standards Council; OR Twelve months work experience as a police officer AND possession of an active police officer certificate issued by a jurisdiction outside the State of Alaska and recognized by the Alaska Police Standards Council.

BACKGROUND CHECK: This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, and required access to APSIN, an applicant with criminal convictions will not move forward in the selection process.
CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT: The successful candidate will be required to read, understand, and agree to via signature, an agreement of confidentiality concerning the work commonly encountered within the Department of Public Safety to qualify for this position.
