Under supervision, this position serves as a lead person, provides lifesaving services and maintains aquatic facilities as required; provides supervision of participants to ensure the safety of all persons using the Municipal swimming or waterfront area; communicates information to coworkers, immediate supervisor and the public; provides a wide variety of water safety instruction to children and adults; responsibilities also include performing facility and ground security and performing duties related to maintaining swimming pool and waterfront water quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and one (1) year lifeguard experience and experience as a swim instructor.
