Role Description

The Assistant C-Store Manager will support the C-Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store. This role includes managing and supervising staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining store standards. The Assistant C-Store Manager will also assist in inventory management, sales analysis, and implementing strategies to improve store performance.

Training Location: 1150 E Steam Commons Ave, Wasilla, AK 99654 (Minimum of 2 Week Training Period Required)

Placement Location: 14468 W. Hollywood Dr., Big Lake, AK 99652

Required Skills/Abilities

• Assist the C-Store Manager in maintaining customer and team interactions for satisfaction and inventory management.
• Support the merchandising of new products and manage seasonal changes according to company standards.
• Help control profit and loss by managing shrinkage and overseeing receiving processes.
• Conduct performance evaluations and recommend personnel actions.
• Coordinate logistics with truck drivers for loading and unloading.
• Evaluate store conditions, set priorities, and supervise team members to achieve company goals.
• Assist in managing equipment and facility maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures and corporate policies.
• Operate various equipment, including manual pallet jacks and trash compactors.
• Utilize computer skills, including spreadsheet programs and email.
• Occasionally operate cash registers and other office equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Apply basic to intermediate math skills.
• Exhibit strong physical capabilities, including lifting, bending, and fine motor skills.
• Display strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership skills.
• Comfortably work in a climate-controlled warehouse with occasional exposure to extreme cold and chemicals.

Experience/Education:

• A High School Diploma or GED is a mandatory requirement.
• It is preferred that candidates have 5 years of retail experience.
• Candidates who lack the full 5 years of retail experience may still be considered if they have a combination of post-secondary education and other relevant experience to substitute for the retail experience requirement.

Pay Range: Starting at $19.00 - $20.00/hr (DOE)

Working environmentWork is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds below waist, up to 20 pounds at waist/chest and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
