Job Description

The Expeditor is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and expediting materials, equipment, and services to support drilling, production, maintenance, and construction operations. This role ensures that critical materials are delivered on time, in proper condition, and aligned with operational priorities. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in fast-paced and logistically complex environments, including remote or challenging field locations.

Responsibilities

Materials & Logistics Coordination

  • Track and expedite the movement of materials, tools, and equipment to operational sites
  • Coordinate shipments via multiple transportation methods (road, air, or other applicable routes)
  • Monitor delivery schedules and proactively resolve delays to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with warehouses, field teams, and transportation providers
  • Ensure materials are staged, delivered, and received according to operational priorities

Documentation & Inventory Control

  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, bills of lading, and material transfer records
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material tracking systems
  • Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and tracking of critical or time-sensitive items
  • Support audits related to inventory and material usage
  • Maintain clear and accurate reporting of material status

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

  • Communicate with suppliers, service providers, and transportation vendors
  • Track purchase orders and follow up on delivery commitments
  • Resolve discrepancies related to shipments or materials
  • Support vendor performance monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate urgent or emergency material requests

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Ensure all material handling and transportation activities comply with safety and environmental standards
  • Verify proper handling of hazardous or regulated materials
  • Report and document any incidents, damages, or safety concerns
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to operational safety procedures

Operational Support

  • Adapt to changing operational priorities and logistical challenges
  • Support time-critical deliveries for field operations
  • Maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams
  • Assist in planning and executing logistics strategies in remote or constrained environments

Skills and Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional training or coursework in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in logistics, materials coordination, warehouse operations, or supply chain support
  • Experience supporting field operations in industrial environments (oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, etc.) preferred

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes
  • Familiarity with logistics tracking systems and documentation
  • Understanding of material handling requirements, including hazardous materials (preferred)

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage delays and disruptions
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and high-pressure environments

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in remote or challenging environments as needed
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., forklift operation, first aid/CPR, safety training) are a plus

Position Details:

Pay: $40-$50/hour (1099)

Location: Anchorage, AK
