Under supervision, the Recreation Specialist II position leads entry-level staff that is responsible for delivering parks and recreation and youth employment activities within Anchorage parks and facilities. This position monitors and supervises participants, organizes & directs activities, cleans facilities and grounds as directed . Employees in this classification work with independence and initiative within the Department's established policies and procedures to perform as an entry level lead. As an entry level lead, employees in this position are expected to provide safe recreational and learning environments. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and one (1) year experience in the program or activity under consideration. Prior experience in the use of recreational equipment is required.
