Job Description
Inspects hazardous materials, explosives, ammunition, special cargo documentation and packaging in accordance with applicable DoD, AF, AMC and civilian directives. Ensures hazardous, explosive, ammunition, and special shipments are properly marked, labeled and packed for air or surface movement.
Performs comprehensive inventories ensuring the protection of resources and executes a broad range of specific storage assignments as directed by AF and civilian directives. Stores, segregates, stacks, palletizes, and/or rotates items considering their use, size, shape, quantity, and special handling requirements.
Performs tasks involved in receiving and shipping items. Consolidates and palletizes air outbound hazardous, explosive, ammunition, and other shipments requiring special handling. Loads, unloads and secures special handling shipments on aircraft.
Drives one or more types of vehicles/equipment, such as pickup, panel, flatbed trucks and forklifts, which typically have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less. Operates Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) including 10K AT forklifts and 25K/60K Loaders.
