Position Overview
Lead heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for overall project execution, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, safety, quality control, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and decisive leader with proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
??Lead all phases of project execution, including schedule, cost, manpower, equipment, materials, safety, and quality performance.
??Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure financial performance and profitability.
??Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
??Coordinate and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
??Interpret contracts, administer project requirements, manage change orders, and resolve disputes.
??Enforce company safety policies and promote a strong safety culture across all job sites.
??Supervise and support field and office teams, including Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field personnel.
??Mentor and develop team members to improve project execution and team capability.
??Provide regular reporting on project status, risks, financial performance, and key metrics.
Qualifications
??Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction (bridges, highways, transit, or rail projects required).
??10+ years of experience preferred in heavy civil infrastructure construction.
??Proven experience managing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
??Experience with DOT and USACE projects strongly preferred.
??Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
??Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus.
??Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and cost control.
??Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with HeavyBid, Primavera P6, and Viewpoint preferred.
??Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
??Ability to work in both field and office environments and access active construction sites.
??Valid driver?s license required.
