The Mover will provide customer service by assisting in the packing and loading of household goods in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Essential functions include packing household belongings for customers using supplies supplied by the company, listing household belongings on inventory sheets as they are packed, wrapping household goods between residence and vehicle, computing charges and capturing information on bills of lading, marking boxes with appropriate inventory tags to ensure proper documentation, answering any questions the customer may have regarding packing of their belongings, performing pre-trip inspections alongside drivers of all aspects of equipment including truck interior, straps and tensioners, walk-boards, etc, assisting as needed in loading trucks and/or containers for forward movement via interstate commerce, lifting and carrying household goods between residence and vehicle, and performing work at warehouse as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of proper packing procedures, good communications skills, willingness to travel (local, intrastate and interstate) are required. Required education and experience include a high school diploma or GED, on-site safety training course. Preferred experience includes previous packing experience and ability to operate a forklift.
Working conditions include being indoors and outdoors, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, frequent squatting and bending, and frequent use of stairs.
