JOB SUMMARY

The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. This role collaborates with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to track progress, identify risks, and support data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop, update, and manage comprehensive project schedules using appropriate scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to define project scope, activities, durations, and dependencies.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against baseline schedules, identifying variances and potential delays.
  • Perform critical path analysis and provide recommendations to mitigate schedule risks.
  • Prepare and present schedule reports, forecasts, and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Integrate resource and cost data into schedules to support overall project planning and control.
  • Maintain schedule baselines and document changes through formal change control processes.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment of timelines and deliverables.
  • Support risk management by identifying scheduling risks and assisting in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, or a related role
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the capacity to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling techniques and critical path methodology (CPM)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in team environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
