Corporate Controller

Salamatof Native Association, Inc. (SNAI) is seeking a Corporate Controller to serve as the primary accounting resource at the corporate level. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic oversight and rolling up their sleeves. The Controller is responsible for the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, general ledger management, financial reporting, consolidations, and audit support. The Corporate Controller will also provide oversight of accounting functions for SNAI's non-federal subsidiaries.

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting operations for SNAI at the parent level, including AP, journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and month-end close
  • Directly process accounts payable and expense reports
  • Oversee the daily accounting operations of designated subsidiaries
  • Manage/perform the accounting for the SNAI Foundation and Settlement Trust
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
  • Assist with consolidations across SNAI and its subsidiaries
  • Support annual audit and tax preparation processes
  • Provide support to shared services payroll function as needed
  • Help implement and maintain accounting systems, including new AP and expense platforms
  • Strengthen current accounting procedures and processes with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, assistant controller, or controller roles
  • CPA preferred
  • Alaska Native Corporation experience highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with consolidations and multi-entity accounting
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
