CTG is seeking to fill an Oracle Architect position for our client.
Location: Anchorage, AK
Duration: 9 months
Duties:
- Serve as the lead Oracle Architect for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) modernization and upgrade initiatives
- Own end-to-end technical architecture, including current-state assessment, target-state design, and upgrade sequencing
- Establish architectural standards for availability, performance, security, and operational support
- Lead reverse engineering of a highly customized Oracle EBS environment, including:
- Custom forms, workflows, concurrent programs, reports, APIs, OAF/Java components, PL/SQL, and database objects
- Integrations and interfaces (batch, real-time, middleware, file-based)
- Third-party solutions and bespoke extensions
- Develop detailed documentation artifacts such as:
- As-is architecture diagrams
- Customization and integration inventories
- Data flows and system dependencies
- Technical debt and risk assessments
- Evaluate and recommend strategies for customizations (retire, replace, refactor, or reimplement)
- Design and guide execution of multi-version Oracle EBS upgrades, including:
- Upgrade readiness assessments and remediation planning
- Customization retrofit and regression strategies
- Testing approaches (SIT, UAT, regression, performance)
- Cutover and rollback planning
- Collaborate with functional, infrastructure, and security teams to minimize business disruption and risk
- Ensure Oracle EBS is optimized on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including:
- Compute, storage, and network configuration
- Security controls and access management
- Backup, disaster recovery, and high availability
- Monitoring, logging, and operational observability
- Partner with infrastructure and operations teams to improve platform stability and resilience
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to IT leadership and business stakeholders
- Communicate complex technical risks, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly
- Participate in architecture governance, reviews, and risk management processes
- Provide estimates, sequencing strategies, and technical input for planning initiatives
Skills: - Deep expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) architecture and administration
- Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) design and optimization
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle databases, performance tuning, and PL/SQL
- Experience with reverse engineering complex, highly customized enterprise systems
- Strong understanding of integrations, middleware, and enterprise data flows
- Expertise in high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical decision-making skills
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
Experience: - 8-12+ years of Oracle enterprise platform experience, including roles as Oracle Architect or Technical Lead
- Proven experience with heavily customized Oracle EBS environments
- Demonstrated success leading Oracle EBS upgrades from multiple versions behind
- Hands-on experience reverse engineering legacy systems with limited documentation
- Strong experience supporting Oracle EBS on OCI, including architecture and operations
- Experience working in mission-critical or high-availability environments preferred
- Experience with EBS modernization and customization reduction strategies preferred
- Experience coordinating cross-functional upgrade efforts across infrastructure, security, and functional teams
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Oracle or cloud certifications (OCI Architect, Oracle DBA, or similar) preferred

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $185,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
