OPTI STAFFING GROUP IS HIRING
Opening: Full Time Cook
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 + Benefits

We're hiring a Cook to join a local nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing nutritious meals for seniors and individuals in need across Anchorage. This is a full-time, permanent position offering steady hours, great benefits, and the chance to be part of something truly meaningful.

We're partnering with a well-respected nonprofit organization that provides essential food services to Alaskans in need. Their mission is simple but powerful-to ensure every senior and community member who needs a meal gets one. The team is compassionate, hardworking, and proud to serve Anchorage through care and consistency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Prepare and cook balanced, nutritious meals following daily menus and dietary guidelines
• Support meal service operations for seniors and individuals with specific nutritional needs
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety standards and regulations
• Assist with meal packaging, labeling, and timely distribution
• Monitor food supplies and assist with inventory management
• Work collaboratively with a small, dedicated team focused on service and quality
• Start early at 5:30 AM and finish your day knowing you've helped someone in need

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and portion control
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Positive attitude and genuine desire to help others
• Dependable, punctual, and able to thrive in a team setting
