What Youll Do

As an Eligibility Specialist, youll guide applicants and tenants through the housing process with professionalism and care. Your work ensures individuals and families get access to safe, affordable housing while maintaining program compliance.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for applicants and tenants throughout the application and recertification process.
  • Process and verify income and eligibility documentation to determine program qualifications.
  • Schedule and conduct applicant appointments; communicate application decisions clearly and professionally.
  • Monitor waitlists and property requirements.
  • Assist with new property lease-ups, including outreach and tracking
  • Accurately maintain and update client information in housing software, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on compliance, reporting, and file audits.

  • Customer Service Pro: Youve mastered the art of providing excellent customer service and can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-Oriented: You can read, analyze, and interpret policies and procedures, related Federal and State regulations, and other compliance-related documents.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is a must.
  • Culturally Competent: Ability to interact professionally and sensitively with culturally, and economically diverse clientele.
  • Confidentiality Expert: You handle sensitive information with care and the highest industry standards for protection.


Basics
  • Education: An associate degree in business, property management, or other real estate-related field. Eligibility processing may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience: Four years of experience working in customer service. Housing or property management experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Preferred; NAHASDA essentials or LIHTC certification training. If youve got it, great! If not, well help you get it.
  • Valid Drivers license.
