Application Instructions

Role Overview

As an ambassador for Horizon Air, representing Alaska Airlines, you will be a gracious and authentic host. You will need to have a deep understanding of inflight service responsibilities and safety protocols. Your friendly and approachable demeanor will help foster a welcoming environment for both guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with safety regulations.
  • Verify that all safety equipment on the aircraft is operational.
  • Greet passengers and assist with seating arrangements and baggage stowage.
  • Explain and demonstrate safety equipment and emergency procedures.
  • Prepare and serve meals and beverages, including alcoholic beverages.
  • Market onboard products and process sales using mobile devices.
  • Effectively manage passenger situations during flights, including medical emergencies.
  • Provide information regarding flight operations and destinations.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Additional Details

Applicants will complete an audio assessment lasting approximately 40 minutes. Training will take place in Portland, OR, with a four-week paid program.

Tattoo Policy

No visible tattoos on the face, front of neck, or chest. One tattoo the size of a quarter or smaller is permitted per hand. Other tattoos must meet size guidelines and may be covered with an approved uniform piece or jewelry, but not makeup.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to meet specific aircraft dimension requirements.
  • Willingness to adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Capability to perform the physical duties required of a flight attendant.
  • Flexibility to be assigned to any of our flight attendant bases.
  • Open to serving alcohol.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
  • Willingness to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to travel extensively.
  • Adaptability to perform diverse tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Willing to relocate as necessary.
  • Must obtain a current passport with unlimited U.S. entry and pass necessary travel documentation for non-U.S. citizens.
  • Fluent in English communication.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
