Credit Union 1 is looking for a dependable and service-minded Security Guard to help keep our people, members, and facilities safe. This role will conduct regular unarmed patrols and monitor our premises to protect against safety risks such as theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. Plays a key part in providing consistent, reliable security support for both our headquarters and remote staff, helping ensure a secure and welcoming environment each day.

This position is located on-site at our Abbott Headquarters (1941 Abbott Rd.)
Pay Range: $20.03 - $30.09
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Periodically and in accordance with established guidance, tour the premises to check doors, windows, and gates for security; monitor public access and ensure the security of all personnel and visitors.
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property; report any suspicious behaviors and happenings.
- Investigate suspicious behavior, incidents, and security breaches; apprehend trespassers and perpetrators.
- Respond to emergencies and provide necessary assistance to employees and customers; obtain help by sounding alarms and notifying the police.
- Cover the corporate lobby desk and perform associated responsibilities, including: assisting and greeting staff, issuing temporary badges, notifying staff upon vendor arrival, and providing general assistance to members.
- Monitor cameras and maintain branch awareness for any suspicious or risky behaviors by both employees and members.
- Assists with annual branch risk assessments in providing meaningful feedback and observation of the branches.
- Monitor vendor access and make sure vendors follow check-in procedures and maintain video observation of the vendors when in credit union facilities.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Adhere to all company policies and legal regulations and remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulation (BSA/AML) and the policy or compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC).
- Acts as the face of the credit union and ensures members and employees are greeted with a smile and enthusiasm.
- Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent is required. One year of prior security experience preferred. Outstanding surveillance and observation skills, with excellent communication skills and the ability to exercise good judgement is required for the position. A working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures is preferred. Knowledge of state laws and regulations and training in First Aid is not required, but is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes, and have a driving record that is in compliance with the Credit Union Vehicle Policy.
Please note: Credit Union 1 does not provide relocation assistance. If selected for an on-site position, candidates will be responsible for relocating to Alaska prior to the agreed upon start date at their own expense.
