Position Description:
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing sourcing plans for metals used in manufacturing operations in the US and Canada. This position creates and executes RFP's, manages supplier performance to contracts, identifies competitive supplier options and works with USG's Corporate Innovation Center and Plants to identify substitute raw materials. The Specialist.1 negotiates pricing and contracts, coordinates directly with Production Planners, and addresses and escalates supplier performance issues. This position works as part of a team and reports to Sourcing leadership.
Occasional travel (5%) is required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage annual sourcing spend of approximately $40M, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers 15-20 suppliers, overseeing onboarding, performance monitoring, and vendor file management.
• Develop deep expertise in product lines, raw material specifications, and purchasing processes to support informed decision-making.
• Negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms to achieve optimal cost and performance outcomes.
• Improve MRP accuracy and reliability by identifying and resolving data integrity issues.
• Execute purchase orders for raw materials based on MRP recommendations, production planning needs, and other inputs.
• Monitor open purchase orders and collaborate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies between internal and supplier reports.
• Ensure accurate unit costs and pricing on purchase orders, update contract pricing, and address AP matching issues through corrective actions.
• Manage inventory replenishment processes for metal components, balancing storage capacity constraints with target inventory levels.
• Collect and analyze data (e.g., quotes, sales, usage, lead times, rebates) to drive business decisions.
May perform other duties that are not fundamental to the overall purpose and strategic impact of the job.

Competencies:
Education:
• B.A. or B.S degree (Business; Engineering, Supply Chain; or related field) required.
Years of Experience:
• 3-5 years of procurement, supply chain, project management or related experience.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
