SUPERVISOR'S TITLE Human Resources Manager
Position Summary Under general supervision, the Human Resources and Employee Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of organization travel and providing Human Resources support. This role also assists with accounting reconciliations, logistics-based vendor administration, and assigned report tracking. The position requires strict confidentiality, adherence to company policies, and professional communication with internal and external parties.
Primary Responsibilities • Manage the full travel cycle from initial request through payment processing
• Arrange and confirm employee and contractor travel in compliance with established procedures, policies, budget guidelines, and approval processes
• Maintain and update travel calendars, manifest details, and related documentation daily
• Track and report travel schedules at least one month in advance using approved methods
• Monitor vendor performance and secure new or alternative transportation options when necessary to prevent service interruptions
• Negotiate and secure new vendor rates as assigned, and submit them to the finance department by deadline
• Maintain accurate records of vendor rates, including mid-year changes.
• Provide travel vendors with annual anticipated dates of travel needs and confirm transport methods for high passenger count, such as boats that require seating and a deckhand for over six passengers
• Reconcile assigned invoices and expense reports promptly and submit for payment
• Assist with recruiting activities, including posting job openings and scheduling interviews
• Support onboarding, employee communications, and HR recordkeeping in compliance with confidentiality standards
• Process and track workers' compensation claim expenses and associated payments
• Manage department company credit card transactions and reconcile statements
• Report to work reliably and on time, and must communicate any anticipated absences or delays to their supervisor with reasonable advance notice whenever possible
• Adhere to all safety protocols and workplace policies relevant to this position
• Maintain professionalism and respectful conduct to support a positive and constructive workplace; behavior that undermines safety or mutual respect is not acceptable
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HR protocols and company policies
• Communicate professionally with staff, vendors, public, contractors, and others, ensuring timely and accurate services
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Familiarity with the regional geography of Prince William Sound, Anchorage, Whittier, and Valdez
• Understanding of regional transportation challenges and available transport methods
• Basic knowledge of Area E fisheries and commercial fisheries operations
• Ability to recognize urgency and prioritize and manage multiple tasks accordingly to avoid disruptions in logistics
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with travel vendors
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all recordkeeping and reconciliation tasks
• Ability to consistently follow established procedures and observe adherence to any newly developed or modified procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgement
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with internal staff and external contacts
• Ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully with employees, colleagues, public, vendors, contract staff, and any other stakeholders
• Strict adherence to confidentiality protocols
WORK ENVIRONMENT • Work is performed in a typical office setting
• Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required during peak travel periods
• Transport employees and/or freight using a company vehicle, exposure to variable road conditions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and traverse stairs as needed
• Ability to perform desk work for extended periods
• Ability to use telephones, computers, and standard office equipment

RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years of employment experience in corporate travel, accounting, or HR support
• Familiar with vendor management and expense reconciliation
• Current, valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Human Resources
