Help - Drives one or more types of medium trucks and special purpose vehicles, such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, forklift trucks to transport supplies, materials and equipment, which may be equipped with air brakes. Performs operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation. Performs dispatcher duties. Maintains records and documents actions, such as operator inspection checklist/forms and accident/incident reports. Transports, cleans, stores and performs minor maintenance of Fleet Service/aircraft equipment. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Performs fleet servicing on AMC and non AMC aircraft. Inventories and receipts for all nonexpendable fleet service equipment aboard inbound aircraft.

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the work of a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR without more than normal supervision. Work requires reaching, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls to operate, turn, back and control vehicles which may carry heavier loads. Associated duties require stooping, bending and climbing. Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40pounds and heavier object with assistance. Ability to distinguish basic colors. Hearing, with or without hearing aides, is required. Drives work mostly outside and operate vehicles in all kinds of traffic and weather on public roads (or equivalent) and are exposed to the danger of serious accidents. Drivers are exposed to dirt, fumes and to the possibility of cuts, bruises and broken bones as a result of accidents when loading and unloading the vehicle and/or servicing aircraft. Exposed to heat/cold, humid/dry conditions. Works on ladders/scaffolding. Works closely with others and works alone.
