for an Information Officer 1 located in Anchorage!
What you will be doing:
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of commercial Fisheries is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated full time, permanent Fish and Game Information Officer 1 to join our dynamic team at the Anchorage Commercial Fisheries Information Center. In this role, you will work closely with the Information Officer 2 to support daily operations and serve as a key point of contact for the public. You will help maintain the flow of commercial fisheries information while providing essential administrative support to regional and field staff. This position offers unique opportunities to support projects in some of the most remote regions of Alaska and parts of Canada. In the Anchorage Commercial Fisheries Information Center, we provide assistance to commercial fishers with permit renewals, fishery registrations, and information about regulations and fishery openings. We also provide information about commercial fisheries and fishery regulations to the general public, and we strive to foster a better public understanding of Alaska's commercial fisheries. This position is also responsible for Yukon River Panel meeting coordination, and staff support during the Board of Fisheries process.

The Anchorage Commercial Fisheries Information Center staff is a small team that provides support for the commercial fishing industry and to Fish and Game staff in the Anchorage office. The working environment you can expect:
This position is located at the Fish and Game office in Anchorage. Daily work involves communicating with commercial fishing permit holders, processors, the public as a first point of contact, and Fish and Game regional and area staff. This position also works closely with their supervisor and staff from other state agencies to help provide guidance to permit holders. Occasional travel to other state offices to assist during high season, outreach events, and travel during the Yukon Panel cycle.
