Summary

Under supervision by the Warehouse Operations Manager or designee, required to perform tasks involving physical labor indoors and outdoors, movement of equipment and parts between the warehouse and project locations. Under supervision, prepares orders, picks up, receives, stores, and delivers supplies and equipment to project sites. This position is diverse, and the job duties may vary on a daily basis.

The pay range for this position is $24.04/hour-$28.73/hour.

This position will be posted for 5 days or until filled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Loads and unloads supplies and equipment.
  • Locates and moves materials, equipment, and parts using a cart, hand truck, or other equipment between work areas of the project location/site to expedite the processing of goods according to pre-determined schedules, needs, and priorities.
  • General manual labor will include using hand tools and providing manual labor support for project activities.
  • Assists in receiving, unpacking, and checking incoming materials and equipment against invoices or bills of lading to verify items and quantities received.
  • Palletizes, tags, and moves material to designated locations.
  • Assists in the preparation of materials for shipment to field locations.
  • Keeps floors and storage areas clean and orderly.
  • Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.
  • Provide assistance to staff in the field/site location as requested.
  • Maintain a safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all tasks, activities, and operations. Monitor work area for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Basic computer skills, ability to work with basic computer programs and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, ability to operate company vehicles
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures
  • Experience in the construction and/or environmental industry
  • Forklift Certified
  • CPR/1st Aid, OSHA, HAZWOPER training

Physical Demands

Frequent lifting, sitting, standing, stooping for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity, should have good hand-eye coordination and motion control in coordination with handling tools, equipment, and other related components.

Reaching with hands and arms for items above and below sight level, talking, hearing (frequently communicates with field personnel via various modes; must be able to relay accurate information), and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth, color perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the project location with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 12 hours. Frequent lifting of up to 50-75 pounds, such as small tools, equipment, and other materials. Work may involve using ladders and/or lifts.

Work Environment

Work areas may be indoors or outdoors, subject to confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00, or as business needs dictate
