General mechanical maintenance technician -On Call
The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for an On Call, general mechanical maintenance technician to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.

The role of general mechanical maintenance technician is responsible for repairing, replacing and maintaining hotel equipment and guest's rooms in accordance with established standards in a safe manner.

Typical duties of the general mechanical maintenance technician include:

• Paint, deliver and/or repair furniture, fix or install wall coverings, caulking, grouting, or other miscellaneous repairs needed throughout the hotel.
• Maintain, repair or replace hotel equipment.
• Respond to any guest or employee issues with furnace, air-conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, TV, in room safe and hot water.
• Accurate record keeping on assigned tasks is required.
• Change filters on all supply air fans and fan coil units requiring the ability to grasp hand tools and adjust and maintain equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area which includes your supplies and workshop area.

The successful applicant will:

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical work.
• Basic knowledge of both hand tools and electric tools.
• Must have basic English communication skills.
• Be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Be able to grasp, lift or carry up to 50lbs.
• Attention to detail.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Proactively looks for more efficient ways of performing duties.
• Able to perform tasks without immediate supervision.
• Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
• Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
• Responds promptly to guests' request and listens to their concerns.
• Related experience/training of 2-4 years is required.
