This role is to support the Unit Head by directing the primary functions of the Commercial Tellers in the unit. Salary: $25.15/hour minimum. Job/salary offer would be commensurate with job level and experience. Schedule: Monday-Friday.

General Purpose Summary

May direct the primary functions of the Commercial Tellers assigned to the Central Vault Unit and assist the Unit Head by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies currency shipments to and from commercial customers, branches, offsite ATM's, and the Federal Reserve Bank.
  • Performs teller corrections and approves commercial change orders and deposits for Tellers within assigned limits.
  • Performs training of Central Vault staff when necessary; references to Operation Manuals effectively; and keeps updated on policies, procedures and pertinent bank regulations, including but not limited to Reg CC, Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, and Right to Financial Privacy Act.
  • Builds schedules for Unit staff, edits and may approve time clock records and generates reports for review by supervisor. Upon delegation by supervisor, may direct, plan and assign work to Central Vault personnel.
  • Performs verification of Incoming Vault Log Sheets daily and reconciles monthly armored carrier invoices.
  • Reviews monthly and quarterly analysis reports sent to various departments of the bank.
  • Assists with proof and review; and may perform daily and quarterly audits of unit vault.
  • Maintains awareness of opportunities to promote and cross-sell bank products and services to commercial customers and refers to Central Vault Supervisor.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Compliance Expectations

  • Ensure business unit's operations comply with bank policy, procedures, and banking regulations (for business unit heads).
  • Ensure you and your delegates have adequate and current compliance training, and ensure training is completed on time.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure you and your delegates comply with the bank's policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect the bank's operations by you and your delegates identifying and protecting confidential information.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May supervise employees. In the supervisory role, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Trains employees: plans, assigns, and directs work; addresses complaints; resolves problems; and may be requested to make hiring, evaluating, and terminating recommendations regarding employees.

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience Minimum: Three years accounting, bookkeeping, banking, office management, or related experience, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience with two years heavy cash handling experience.

Preferred Knowledge of First National Bank Alaska's bank operations and products; teller line experience. Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Other Skills and Abilities Word processing, spreadsheet and Outlook software experience required. Ability to keyboard 35 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator by sight required.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and government regulations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to answer questions and speak effectively with customers, managers and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Skills Ability to apply common sense understanding while carrying out written, oral, or diagram instructions; and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
