The Role:The Business Development Manager is a senior sales position working in tandem with an internal team, marketing staff and other managers to increase sales opportunities and maximise revenue. He or she must find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients and continue to grow business in the future.The Tasks:
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Cold call prospects
  • Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company
  • Develop a rapport with new clients and provide support that will continually improve the relationship
  • Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients
  • Calling on clients to present solutions and services that meet or predict their future needs
  • Work with mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff
  • Manage the activities of others responsible for developing business for the company
  • Strategic planning and developing a pipeline of new business. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide and of the company's competitors
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company's people and capabilities
  • Understand the company's goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company's performance.
Entry Requirements:
  • A degree in Business Administration and/or Marketing
  • A motor vehicle in good working order
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Copywriting & copyediting skills
  • Must demonstrate a problem-solver mentality; ability to anticipate and think critically; always seeking to improve oneself or internal systems & processes
  • Organizational – ability to handle multiple responsibilities at one time yet still get assignments completed in a timely basis
  • Strong Follow-Up Skills – follow-up may entail contacting both staff and clients
