Tribal Council Support Technician

The Tribal Council Support Technician provides administrative support to the Tribal Council Office Manager and the Tribal Council. The Technician will assist Tribal Council, Board, Commission, and Committees with document preparation, filing, and correspondence.
Assists with preparing and distributing agendas, packets, and minutes for Tribal Council, Board, Commission, and Committees
Responsible for setting up Tribal Council, Board, Commission, and Committee meetings to include catering services and room preparation
Schedules meetings as directed
Responsible for data entry and filing of all Tribal Governance records and documents
Maintains strict confidentiality of all Tribal Council, Board, Commission, and Committee discussions and documents
Responsible for receiving and distributing all Tribal Council mail
Shall maintain a clean and orderly Tribal Council Chambers, kitchen, and offices, including taking inventory and ordering supplies on a weekly or as-needed basis
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and priorities
Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance
Lifting Requirements
Sedentary work Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience
One (1) year of clerical experience
License/Certification
Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, or obtain within 90 days of hire
Preferred
Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
One (1) year of customer service experience
Special Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training within 90 days of hire
Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines
