The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Design and Engineering Services is looking to hire an Engineer/Architect 2/3 Flex (Highway Design Project Manager) to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing: This position plans, manages, supervises, and controls all the activities necessary for the development and preliminary design of multiple small to large, capital improvement projects of varying complexity by coordinating the efforts of in-house design staff and/or private architectural and/or engineering consultants, functional groups within the Department, and other outside agencies. The position supervises professional engineering staff, mentoring in project management, project design, and consultant contract management duties.

The working environment you can expect: Your office will be located at 4111 Aviation Avenue, Anchorage, AK. This work location allows you many options to live and play near a wide range of fantastic outdoor areas and urban community activities. You will be working from the DOT&PF Anchorage Headquarters building with options for teleworking in accordance with department policies. Office hours are flexible and allow for short work weeks in accordance with established policies. This position requires limited travel within the state, primarily southcentral Alaska. Trips are typically day-trips occurring once a month.
Who we are looking for: To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:
Special Note: Position requires registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect in the state of Alaska. Valid driver's license is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Engineer/Architect 2 Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and one year of professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent.
Engineer/Architect 3 Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and three years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series), or the equivalent.
