Position and Location

This position is located in the UAA Department of Student Affairs in the Student Engagement Division. This role includes overseeing point-of-sale and inventory systems, processing vendor orders and payments, training and scheduling barista staff, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Flexibility to support various tasks and maintain a welcoming café environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with inventory management and vendor relations preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Capable of tasks requiring manual dexterity, including operating coffee equipment and handling perishable goods

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria

Position Details

This is a 9-month, hourly position. New hires will be placed on the UA staff temporary salary schedule (Grade 76). Average work hours are typically 20-30 hours per week. Candidates must be flexible to work both during and after coffee shop hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm).
