AirForce CyberWorx is an innovation lab focused on optimizing products, processes, and policies using Human-Centered Design best practices. We are seeking a Human-Centered Design Support Specialist to assist with various aspects of human-centered design projects. This role will involve collecting and acting on feedback, creating prototypes, supporting daily team activities, and contributing to project communications. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of human-centered design principles and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Feedback Management: Collect, reflect on, and act upon feedback from stakeholder interactions, design validation sessions, and playbacks.
Prototyping and Design: Create and manipulate design and visualization concepts that can be quickly turned into prototypes for concept evaluation. Develop low, medium, and high-fidelity interactive wireframes and prototypes using tools such as Photoshop, Marvel App, Framer, InVisionApp, Proto.io, Balsamiq, Miro, or similar.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate, consult, advise, and assist peers to support daily activities and contribute to team projects. Maintain accumulated material and information in an editable format available to AF CyberWorx personnel. Ensure all content (collateral, documents, images, etc.) is managed as Government property.
Project Support: Contribute to project-level communications, logistics, and other tasks as needed, including preparing design session facilitation supplies, making copies, updating documents such as participant spreadsheets, and assisting in post-event clean-up.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Behavioral Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Experience: At least three years of relevant experience working as a human-centered designer. Core Expertise: Basic understanding of human-centered design and/or design thinking with the ability to contribute insights into business processes and solutions. Specializations: Basic strengths in at least two of the following areas: user experience research, analysis, and interaction; product design support; futures thinking; facilitation skills.
Must be a US Citizen. Must currently possess a SECRET level DoD clearance.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Some experience in designing IT products and user interfaces or participating in futures-centered design sessions. Familiarity with agile methodologies and a DEVOPS mindset. Basic proficiency in hand sketching, prototyping, and low-fidelity modeling. Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe CS, Axure, Sketch, FramerJS, Miro, and a willingness to learn new tools.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must have a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TFSI are required.
