When it comes to environmental consulting, were focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. Were looking for an entry-level Scientist in Alaska to work on Jacobs projects related to site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. Youll gain valuable field experience with environmental sampling techniques and subcontractor oversight. Youll balance your field work with remote work on office tasks such as data interpretation and visualization, report writing, and coordinating field work. Youll have the opportunity to help create a more sustainable world by ensuring environmental compliance, environmental management, and health and safety while working on diverse projects. In this role, youll work with experienced engineers and project managers who will help you start your environmental consulting career at a place like no other, a company that is invested in you and the environment around us. Heres what youll need:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or Chemistry
  • 0-2 years of experience conducting soil/groundwater/sediment/or vapor sampling
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification
  • Ability to travel for field projects up to 50-90% of the time
  • Willingness to perform field work
  • United States Citizenship

Ideally, youll also have:

  • Self-starter willing to work remotely
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Masters degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or Chemistry

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $82,170.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
