Job Description

Apply principles of accounting to process various transactions, responsible for ensuring all accounting data is processed in a timely manner each closing cycle. Understand the contracts pertaining to the units, various POS systems, and sales activities. Completion of monthly reconciliations and billings as needed. Attention to detail is critical for this position in order to ensure accurate accounting data.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand all types of contracts for billing processing and revenue reporting.
  • Gathers, analyzes, compiles and summarizes transactions for accurate and timely recording in the company financial records.
  • Prepares and posts inventory, accruals and general journal entries when required.
  • Reconciles activity to the underlying documents to ensure transactions are consistent with contract terms and GAAP.
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts monthly, including bank accounts and unbilled.
  • Develops, manipulates and maintains accounting spreadsheets and assists in preparing monthly financial and operating reports.
  • Assists in the establishment and maintenance of accounting controls.
  • Independently and effectively works with Company operational staff and others to assure the proper and timely submission of a wide variety of accounting related materials.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting or finance.
  • 3 years of experience including general ledger reconciling, inventory, and billing processing.
  • Good critical thinking skills, an ability to analyze raw data and problem solve.
  • Intermediate proficiency working with Microsoft Word and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Candidates will be required to complete a skills evaluation exam.
  • Must be able to operate calculators and PC keyboards by touch.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities to assure deadlines are met. Results oriented with the ability to respond to the needs of the department and Company
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
