The Grants Services Manager position provides leadership and technical oversight in developing and managing all federal, state and private grants of the Kenaitze Indian Tribe.
Facilitate pre-application meetings with staff to establish timeline for completion and task assignments
Work with staff to prepare proposals to maintain current funding levels, and to seek funding for new programs
Work collaboratively with others to write, edit and prepare grant proposals such as project narratives, grant-specific budgets, and standard forms with sufficient time for internal review, revisions and submission to the granting agency
Create and gather supporting material for grant proposals such as job descriptions, resumes, organizational charts, bibliographies, etc
Draft and obtain letters of support, letters of commitment, and Tribal resolutions
Maintain the necessary records, files, reports, databases and resource material pertinent to grants activities to ensure effective Grants department operations and compliance with federal, state, local and Tribal regulations
Review Notice of Awards, distribute to program staff
Schedule and facilitate post-award meetings to advise necessary staff on approved grant proposals
Work with staff to effectively communicate awarded program goals and objectives, scope, feasibility, and grant compliance requirements
Support program staff in coordinating, developing, and administering grant programs
Assist with programmatic reporting and grant close-out, as requested; Maintains all KIT policies, KIT procedures and strict confidentiality of all KIT information
Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree
Experience: Five years (5) of experience in grant management and administration
Preferred: Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
License/Certification: Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable)
