Human Resource Consultant 1 (Classification Liaison, PCN 029012) in Anchorage or Juneau, AK. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Join the Division of Personnel's Classification team as a Classification Liaison and help shape Alaska's workforce structure and classification plan.

The Division of Personnel provides policy, consultative guidance, and human resource services to State of Alaska Executive Branch agencies. Classification Services offers consultation and expertise in job analysis while administering fair and equitable job classification and pay structures to support the state civil service.

What You Will Be Doing

• Serve as a trusted advisor to state agencies on position classification and job allocation.
• Review and update position descriptions to ensure alignment with job classes.
• Provide expert consultation on classification policies and procedures related to organizational structure.
• Analyze complex HR scenarios and offer policy-aligned recommendations.
• Contribute to projects that shape the foundation of Alaska's workforce structure and classification plan.

Working Environment and Location

This position can be based in either Anchorage or Juneau, depending on the selected candidate's location. We offer a hybrid telework model with two in-office days per week to balance remote work and in-person collaboration. In Juneau, work from the State Office Building; in Anchorage, from the Atwood Building. You will engage in a mix of in-person, telephone, and digital interactions and use tools such as Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel), Workplace Alaska, IRIS, and Aspire Alaska.
