The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Alaska Army National Guard (AKARNG) is recruiting for an Airport Leasing Specialist Flex 1/2/3 position. This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit and is flexibly staffed based on experience and/or training plan:

  • Airport Leasing Specialist 1: Range 14 - $1,999.50 Biweekly
  • Airport Leasing Specialist 2: Range 16 - $2,296.50 Biweekly
  • Airport Leasing Specialist 3: Range 18 - $2,646.00 Biweekly

What You Will Be Doing: The AKARNG is seeking a dynamic team member to support our operational needs under the supervision of the Planner 3 Supervisor. This flexible position offers an entry-level opportunity starting at Range 14, designated as an Airport Leasing Specialist 1, where the successful candidate will assist with lease agreements, short-term rentals, leasing contracts, amendments, facility use and land use agreements, permits, and right-of-way agreements. Depending on experience, there is potential to start at a higher level, such as Range 16, which involves journey-level professional work in development, negotiation, and administration of leases and related legal agreements. Responsibilities include drafting leasing contracts, amendments, use agreements, permits, and right-of-way documents; stipulating contract terms; calculating square footage; and determining rental fees. The highest classification for this flex position is Range 18, a professional-level role requiring the ability to independently develop, negotiate, and manage complex leases, contracts, and agreements; research land status; prepare Real Estate Actions Plans (REAP); collaborate with military staff and commanders; and support the Installation Status Reporting (ISR) function by providing updates on the status of federal and state facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Airport Leasing Specialist 1:

  • Any combination of education and/or experience that provides competencies in: Reading; Reasoning; Interpersonal Skills; Writing.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: Progressively responsible professional experience in developing, negotiating, and administering leases and/or related legal agreements for airport property, commercial or industrial property.

Airport Leasing Specialist 2:

  • Any combination of education and/or experience that provides competencies in Reading; Reasoning; Interpersonal Skills; Writing; and related experience or training interpreting, applying, and approving actions under contracts, leases, real estate transactions, loan documents, insurance policies, or other legal documents.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: Progressively responsible experience and/or training in contracts, leases, real estate transactions.

Airport Leasing Specialist 3:

  • Any combination of education and/or experience that provides competencies in Reading; Reasoning; Interpersonal Skills; Writing; Organizational Awareness.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: Progressively responsible professional experience developing, negotiating, and administering leases and/or related legal agreements.
