Summary or Purpose
The Web and Media Administrator is responsible for managing the North Slope Borough's website, digital media, and graphic design needs. This role ensures timely, accurate, and accessible information through the borough's digital platforms and supports internal departments by producing high-quality visuals, publications, and communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Website & Digital Infrastructure
Manage and update the NSB website, ensuring it is accessible, secure, and up to date.
Implement and support all web-related software and systems.
Design, build, test, and maintain custom website code.
Provide technical support to departments using web tools (e.g., FrontPage).
Track and document changes and updates to the website.
Ensure data security and compliance with applicable standards.
Graphic Design & Media Production
Design graphics and layout for printed materials and digital content for NSB departments.
Serve as the Borough's official in-house photographer.
Support production of publications such as the Mayor's Newsletter and the NSB Directory.
Order software/hardware to stay current with graphic design trends.
Internal Communications & Support
Act as an information source for NSB employees through email and internal updates.
Assist front office staff when needed.
Provide leadership and collaboration across departments through Infocomm.
Other Duties
Stay current on trends and technology in web systems and multimedia.
Travel as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Borough policies and procedures.
Skill in web design languages such as HTML and JavaScript.
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), e.g., WordPress.
Proficiency in graphic design and design software, e.g., Canva, Photoshop, InDesign.
Strong written and visual communication skills.
Skill in working under pressure of deadlines and establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with department staff and other Borough employees.
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in web design and administration.
Minimum two years of hands-on experience managing websites, graphic design, and digital communication platforms.
