Role Overview:
The Cloud Engineer Lead is responsible for architecting, overseeing, and maintaining Greenstand's cloud infrastructure to support its blockchain-based environmental impact tracking system. This role will lead the design and execution of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions, ensuring high availability and performance across Greenstand's platforms. The Cloud Engineer Lead will guide and mentor contributors, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and set strategic direction for cloud initiatives to optimize performance, security, and reliability.

AREAS of RESPONSIBILITY
Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of Greenstand's cloud infrastructure to support blockchain-based tracking and token systems.
Oversee deployment and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
Direct the adoption and use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Establish and enforce cloud architecture standards, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Monitor and analyze cloud operations for performance optimization and cost-efficiency.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
Collaborate with backend development leads to integrate cloud services with Greenstand's blockchain network.
Ensure compliance with data security regulations and maintain immutable records of transactions.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring rapid resolution.
Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and training for contributors and developers working on cloud-related initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
Proven experience leading cloud engineering teams or large-scale cloud projects.
Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Strong proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure and peer-to-peer network architecture.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
Ability to lead in an asynchronous, open-source, and collaborative environment.
Commitment to environmental sustainability and leveraging technology for ecological impact.
