The Division of Community and Regional Affairs (DCRA) is recruiting for a Grants Administrator 2 located in Fairbanks or Anchorage!

What you will be doing: This position will report to the Serve AK grant position and will be responsible for filing the grant process, answering questions about how to request funds, requesting spending, and getting requesting feedback on how funds are showcased and disbursed.

Who we are looking for:

  • Experience working with federal or state grants including grant writing, interpreting, and monitoring. The incumbent will work with grantees to fulfill the terms on the grant and ensure compliance with federal regulations or state statutes.
  • Experience auditing grants or financial information and determining allowable costs.
  • Communication: Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Experience interpreting statutes, regulations or policies and procedures related to various types of grants including state or federal. Attention to accuracy and detail is very important for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Grants Administrator 1 with the State of Alaska.

OR

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

  • Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.

Special Note: "Competencies" means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.
