WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:The Department of Public Safety (DPS) Village Public Safety Officer (VPSO) division is seeking a Program Coordinator 1 to refine tribal liaison initiatives and strengthen relationships with Native Tribes. This position serves as a primary advisor to the VPSO Director, promoting consultation and collaboration with Alaska tribes, tribal organizations, and Native communities, while supporting government-to-government relationships and outreach. The role also involves planning, developing, and implementing program initiatives, as well as coordinating VPSO training, equipment, and supplies to enhance cultural competency and program effectiveness.
