Overview

As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, guests at the Goldbelt Tram are invited to soar to new heights in scenic adventure aboard Juneau's top attraction. We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture.

Summary

Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages and coffee, including bottled and canned drinks. Retail selling of prepared foods such as hot dogs, chips, and other snacks.

Pay and Benefits:

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan, designed to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees. Goldbelt, Inc. may also grant discretionary performance bonuses outside this program at its discretion.

Starting Rate: $15.00 - DOE

Responsibilities

  • Prepare hot and cold beverages.
  • Prepare foods for resale.
  • Handle cash and operate credit card machines accurately.
  • Open and/or close the coffee shop as scheduled.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas as required by the State of Alaska.
  • Provide exceptional customer service daily.
  • Promote product sales through guest interaction.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, and supervise, guide, and train staff.
  • Work directly with the public, providing information and assistance.
  • Learn and share information about local history, culture, geography, etc., with visitors.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills & Knowledge

  • Meet time and attendance requirements.
  • Work various shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Handle stress under pressure.
  • Provide quality customer service with a smile.
  • Operate espresso machines and cash registers.
  • Make a variety of coffee drinks.
  • Accurately exchange money with customers.
  • Reconcile cash at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe work environment.
  • Use company computer systems to input data.
  • Coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer return.
  • Apply customer service techniques effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

  • State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
  • Three months of barista experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a Barista Training Program is preferred.
