The Telecom Lead will report to the IS Operations Manager and is responsible for implementing and maintaining a stable, secure, and efficient network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and communication for all users in Alaska with a focus on production operations and operations technology.
This position involves collaboration with all departments to meet network requirements across various sites including Anchorage, North Slope, winter field work, upcoming construction seasons, and the new production facility. The Telecom Lead will work closely with Telecom engineering within the Development team to design and roll out permanent facilities, ensuring a smooth transition from engineering to operations.
The role also includes developing system performance monitoring processes, diagnosing and resolving network issues, optimizing performance, and maintaining security standards. Ensuring that Alaska's infrastructure meets or exceeds the relevant Management System (SMS) Operating Standards and Core Business Processes is essential. Collaboration with the wider Alaska IT team to meet business technology needs is also a key responsibility.
Essential skills include troubleshooting networks and firewalls, VMware, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Windows Server 2012/2016, SCOM & SCCM, planning and delivering business requirements, leadership, and communication.
Highly regarded skills include problem-solving, prioritization, ITIL certifications, scripting, cloud platforms, database administration, MDM, security practices, and experience with Netscalers, PowerShell, Office 365, NetApp, and firewall configuration.
Previous experience in Oil & Gas environment is highly regarded.
